Oil prices perked up again this morning after Saudi Arabia said explosive-laden drones had attacked two pumping stations belonging to its state-owned oil company Aramco.
Meanwhile, the number of insolvencies in Canada surged 16 per cent in March compared to the previous month, according to a report by the Office of the Superintendent of Bankruptcy Canada. Bankruptcies increased by 13.4 per cent and proposals increased by 17.9 per cent.
Canadian consumers filed the most insolvencies in eight years in March, according to Bloomberg report gleaned from the data.
For the 12-month period ending in March, the total number of insolvencies increased by 4.1 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Business insolvencies for the 12-month period ending in March, increased by 0.3 per cent compared with the 12-month period. Transportation and warehousing, and construction sectors saw the biggest increase in the number of insolvencies.
And a whack of cannabis earnings on deck today, with CannTrust Holdings, Green Organic, Aurora Cannabis, Tilray reporting.
